Well it has been an interesting past couple of days here. It all started back on Tuesday when I noticed a sharp pain in my backside. Not just the back side but in a very delicate area of my back side. I thought nothing of it, I chalked it up to getting older. When I woke up on Wednesday the pain was constant and wasn’t didn’t go away. The pain was tollerable and I really didn’t even notice after a while until I had to make a movement. Thursday was much of the same but I still had no major concerns, but come Friday morning I began to worry. It hurt to walk, sit (really bad), stand, #1. I decided after work to go to the doctor and get checked out. I saw a general doctor and she said that I needed to see the staff surgeon. The surgeon drives from Lawrenceville to Winder to evaluate me. As soon as he checks me out he says that he wants me to have surgery to remove the rectal abcess as soon as possible. OMG! are you serious? So Jen leaves work and picks me up and takes me to gwinnett medical center and I have the surgery. I was completely sedated, under anestesia with the throat tube and everything, and I was out of surgery and awake by 10:00 pm. Well awake is a loose term. I had a 103 degree fever for a couple of hours. I also got pretty sick from the anestesia. I spent the night in the hospital Friday night and most of the afternoon Saturday too. I got home Saturday around 4:30 or 5:00 and took my prescriptions and went right back to sleep until today around 7:00 am. I am still a little queezy in my belly from the pain meds and other pills but I am getting better in that area but now I am really starting to notice the pain from the open wound in my bum. The doctors removed an abcess the size of a baby carrot and left an open wound in it’s place. It still hurts to do all of the things before but at least I will heal and be back to normal in a week or so. Weird weekend for sure.
Well now! April, May, June, July, and most of August have come and gone with no posts from me. I am very sorry for that but I have been slacking and I have no real good excuses other than that. I will let everyone know how everyone in my life is doing. Arden is a big old stinker! She is mostly walking now and not to mention the climbing! We have been calling her Tinker Knievel for the past few weeks cause that little girl has no fear what so ever. I wish that I had her enthusiasm, but then again my bones won’t heal nearly as fast as hers will. Jen is also doing really well! She is still selling wine with Northeast Sales and she is getting the itch to have more little monsters. She wants to have four or five more but I think we are gonna stop after the next one.
That is my post for now and hopefully I can keep up appearances here for ya’ll.
I got a great big kick out of this. Jen got the ball rolling on this activity while I washed a few dishes in the background. It was so funny to watch, I had to go get the video camera and get it up for all of you. I think I might try and break out the trombone for her next or borrow a tuba, to see how naturally she takes to them. She really like messing around with the ukelele too. We think that it is very cute.
It snowed a lot here today. I mean a bunch. More than I have ever seen it snow in Georgia before. It accumulated 9 inches on my driveway. My power is totally out for my entire street (neighborhood). No heat! The roads are in very shitty shape and so are my nerves. I am pretty worried. We have built a fire and we are nestled, all three of us in front of the hearth. It is very nice, but I am concerned about Arden being warm enough. Bye for now.
Way back when in Febraury of 1976, my mother and i had a moment. She would make this kissy face and I would imitate her. All the kinfolk would laugh and laugh. Of course in don’t really remember any of that but there is photographic evidence of such behavior. It got me to thinking, maybe i should try this with Arden. I was a little more than 8 months old then, so maybe she will, maybe she won’t. Well I tried for a half hour or so and she wouldn’t do it but i will keep on trying.
Sorry Mom. I know you don’t like this photo, but i do.
Love you MOM!
I am lying here In bed around 12:00 am. I feel pretty tired but not very sleepy. Arden was pretty difficult tonight around bedtime but I finally got her to sleep close to 9:45 or so. She gets so cranky at bedtime for some reason.
As I am still awake a lot of things are pecking away at my brain.
1. Should I start Jeff Gordon or Greg Biffle for my fantasy racing team?
2. Are the Atlanta Braves gonna do anything this year?
3. Should I kill Playboy X or Dwayne in GTA4?
Any help you can give me on any of these subjects I will listen.
I am going to sleep now.
